An MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) is a safety device that automatically cuts off electricity when the current flowing through a circuit exceeds safe levels, helping to prevent damage, fire, or equipment failure. It’s designed to protect electrical systems from overcurrent, including both overloads and short circuits. Unlike a fuse, which must be replaced after it trips, an MCB can simply be reset to resume normal operation.
MCBs are typically installed in distribution boards and often serve as the main switch for electrical circuits. They come in various current ratings to suit different applications—from small household devices to larger shop and commercial setups. By instantly stopping power in the event of a fault, MCBs help keep electrical systems safe and reliable.
